Ha! And I have to say, they look fantastic on my King of Christmas tree! I love the way they sparkle when the lights come on in the evening. I’ve been called an oddball before and quite like it. Am I crazy to love them so much? Do you think it’s odd to use silverware? It’s okay to tell me. Well there are a few of my treasured and super easy DIY Christmas ornaments. Maybe with some buttons, pearls or tiny sequins. And as you can see I add pinecones or other treats inside the silver creamers for added festiveness. On occasion, I’ve added live greenery and that turns out very nice. Have even used twine or regular ornament hooks as well. I’ve used velvet and a sheer polyester ribbon. That’s all you do to make these beauties! See? Easy peasy! If you didn’t want to bend them you could drill a small hole on the handle just large enough for ribbon to fit through. I say they’re a DIY ornament because it takes a sturdy steel rod and some muscle to bend the handles. Not sure if it’s because I’m being lazy or if it’s that I notice the details a little more. They look tarnished and every once in a while I’ll polish them up before hanging. I add the ribbon, the picks and so many other ornaments but when I step back to view the awesomeness, a little piece of my heart sinks. #organizinggoalsĪll that said, I wholeheartedly tell myself I’m not going to use my DIY Silverware Christmas ornaments because I used them last year and the year before that and the year before that. Honestly, most years are very similar because the digging is overwhelming and once again I didn’t do what I intended which was organize the attic before putting away the Christmas decor. It’s not that difficult when you’re my age, have been decorating for years, and you have an attic full of Christmas crap treasures. Seriously.Īs I’m singing along to the tunes I come up with a theme or at least the colors I want to implement while trying to use what I already have. If it weren’t for the little white gloves that come with our beautiful trees from King of Christmas, I’d hate that job. See what I mean?! How cute is that?! Each year when it’s time to pull out the Christmas trees, I blast Christmas music throughout the house, drive everyone crazy because it’s not quite Thanksgiving, then start the assembly and fluffing. But once you see them, I think you’ll understand why. I’m not sure I could go a year without using them somewhere or on at least one of my trees. You may have seen my favorite ornaments before.
